Founded in 1988 by Dennis J. Cameron, DJ Camco began with a simple idea. To provide high quality precision products with enhanced customer service. DJ apprenticed in Rhode Island. under some of the last masters from Brown & Sharpe and Starrett. In 1982 DJ accepted a position as production manager for a Jacksonville, Florida fiber-optic company. While establishing their manufacturing facility he perceived the need for a reliable precision-machined component supplier. He decided to go out on his own and started D.J. Camco Corporation to fill that need. D.J. Camco quickly became the supplier for several medical device and industrial manufacturers in the growing Jacksonville area.

DJ's nephew, Kirk Martin, joined the company in charge of production. Making DJ Camco a family operation. With Kirk's twenty plus years of R&D and production experience in the medical device and tool-making field, Kirk was instrumental in DJ Camco's rapid growth. In 2007 they moved to their present larger facility on Dennis St. in Jacksonville, Florida.
